Public interest lawyer and human rights defender for over 30 years, he received the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Award in 2001 and was a member of the Pastoral da Terra Commission until the following year, when he dedicated himself to founding Terra de Direitos. He took part in the foundation of the National Network of Public Interest Lawyers (Rede Nacional de Advogados e Advogadas Populares - RENAP), the Brazil Human Rights Fund (Fundo Brasil de Direitos Humanos), the Justice and Human Rights Articulation (Articulação Justiça e Direitos Humanos - JusDh) and the Paraná Agroecology Conferences. He is currently a member of the National Human Rights Council he represents the coordination of the DHESCA Brasil Human Rights Platform, as well as being a member of the Board of Trustees of the Fundo Brasil Foundation.
Public interest lawyer currently taking a Master’s Degree in Socio-Environmental Law and Sustainability at the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná. His working areas at Terra de Direitos are access to territory in rural communities, social movement criminalization and judicial accountability of human rights violations. He represents Terra de Direitos on the National Food and Nutrition Security Council. He is the organizer and co-author of the book entitled Direito Constitucional Quilombola: análises sobre a ação direta de inconstitucionalidade 3239 (Quilombola Constitutional Law: analyses of direct unconstitutionality action 3239), as well as being co-author of the guide entitled Empresas Transnacionais no Banco dos Réus (Transnational Companies in the Dock).

Public interest lawyer and specialist in Criminal Law and Criminologythe Institute of Criminology and Criminal Politics and the Federal University of Paraná. She began working at Terra de Direitos in 2002, operating in Paraná, Pará and Pernambuco on the issues of human rights defenders, legal aid to rural people’s movements and traditional communities as well as the issue of justice democratization. Since 2014 she has been based at the organization’s office in Brasília. She is currently a member of the Justice and Human Rights Articulation (JusDh) and the Brazilian Human Rights Defenders Committee.

Marcel is a psychologist and is currently taking a Master’s Degree in Technology and Society at the Technical Federal University of Paraná. At Terra de Direitos he works in administrative and financial management. He is a member of the Permanent Human Rights Commission of the Paraná Regional Psychology Council, which he represents on the Paraná and Curitiba Alcohol and Drugs Councils. He is dedicated to the discussion of LGBT issues and their intersection with religions. He believes in and fights for the Secular State and that all people be respected and respect each other mutually.

She is currently taking a Master’s Degree in Political Institutions, Elites and Decision-Making Processes at the Federal University of Paraná.
Maria Mello Communications office (Brasília office)
Journalist with a Master’s Degree in Media Studiesthe University of Brasília (UnB). She coordinated the Communications Office of the Federal Psychology Council , as well as having been Executive Secretary of the National Forum on Communication Democratization (FNDC) and communications officer of the Rural Landless Workers Movement (MST). She worked for the National Agricultural and Livestock Research and Development Workers Union (SINPAF) and the National Union of Higher Education Institution Teachers (ANDES-SN). In São Paulo she worked for corporate press offices, as well as working for the História Viva magazine, the Caros Amigos magazine and the Brasil de Fato newspaper.
